Los Prefectos son los alumnos mas aplicados de Hogwarts, cada dos meses se hace el recuento de puntos [link] donde se descubre la Casa Ganadora y el nuevo Prefecto, que es el alumno que más trabajos entregó.
Este alunmo se convierte en Alumno de Honor y es nombrado en el Journal Principal [link]
